The Danbury 911 center received calls regarding a vehicle that had crashed into the building at 39 New Street on Sunday, March 24 around 6:30 p.m.

Members of the Danbury Fire Department arrived and discovered that the full-size van slammed into the building, which is a house owned by the Philadelphia Pentecostal Church and used as a rectory.

The van caused significant damage, including the structural supports for the second floor. The driver was uninjured.

Danbury firefighters shored up the building to prevent further damage or collapse. After the electric and water services were secured, the City of Danbury Building Department official inspected the building and met with representatives to initiate the restoration process.
